Food Packaging Lab Cancelled!!

Attention All Food Tech THIRD YEAR student! The Food Packaging Lab on next week will be cancel and the lab will be start on Thursday (3rd September). For the Monday (31st August) lab, will be replace at the following week Monday (7th September).Please Spread the news to all ur Friends! Thanks!

Nokia 5800 Latest firmware 30.0.011

Attention to all nokia 5800 user, u can now update ur phone firware to the latest version of 30.0.011. The chnages of this firware is not much as i seen but it do improve the stability and speed of the whole system. Besides the older nokia dictionary ( English - chinese) has come back. However, the word database might be lost due to the last update of the firmware.

This is the solution to reinstall the database.
1) Download the nokia N95 word database from the nokia europe website. (http://www.nokia-asia.com/A4812001)
2) Unzip the N95_SimplifiedDictionaryDB zip file.
3) open the folder named 'private'.
4) Connect ur nokia 5800 in the mass storage mode.
5) Copy the folder named '101f9cfe' in the 'private' folder.
6) Paste the folder to the 'Private' folder in the nokia 5800 memory card.
7) Restart ur nokia 5800 and if u promted to enter the password for the memory card, enter it.
8) The old version dictionary should be able to work now.


I personally like this version of the dictionary much because it have a stronger database compare to the new self pronouncable version of dictionary. Hope this post can help.

Quick Fix to the HP Quick Play

After searching for a long time i finally found this on one of the forum and it proven to be work!

Apparently, with big thanks to Cheryl & Brett, whoever you are, you just need to do this before installing Quick Play:

"click START then RUN and type "regedit" into the box (without quotes)
For QuickPlay:
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\QPFlag
(you may have to create the QPFlag directory [right click on the right side>new>key])
Right click and select New->Dword
For the Value Name type "QPFlag"(no quotes) and Value data should be "3" (no quotes) [right click>modify]
Click OK
again right click, select New->String
Value name is "@=" (no quotes)
Click Ok. "


My laptop is HP Pavillion dv6508tx. I have struggling for long time because cannot install the HP quickplay as it was one of my major intention to buy this laptop at the begining.

So with this quick fix how u guys no need to call HP again regarding the issue of unable to install Quickplay and instead using DVD play at the end. However this trick will not last forever as the HP laptop is all tattoo and will be back to the same problem after u reformat your machine. Therefore, you may need to reapply this trick after the clean reformat of ur lappy.
